The Thirteen Months of Pregnancy pioneered the father experience in the early nineties. In fact, it was the first and only book for fathers-to-be that spoke to them in a genuine, heartfelt manner; presenting the latest facts in a light hearted way. The goal was to give these new fathers what they needed to know when then needed it, in order to be proactive in their ‘pregnancy experience.’
The author of this book enlisted the help of all the necessary professionals to ensure you were getting the most accurate and timely information. It since then has been updated in the new Special Edition to once again pioneer the best presentation of mission critical information. The same approach that earned them the coveted Benjamin Franklin Award. If you can only read one book, this would be the one.
That award also included how this book was marketed to dads and of course the expectant mother; who was buying the book for most fathers. Part of that extensive program included a live action and animated tv commercial which in itself was revolutionary. No books to that date had been advertised on television. But as they believe and were committed to giving fathers-to-be a source of useful information that they could apply immediately after reading, television seemed a natural. They also participated in prime time tv shows, where the author spoke to the book and its entertaining content. In total, TV shows, Radio interviews, book and magazine reviews totaled over 500 in the course of two years. It was an immediate hit and very successful with new dads.
This TV commercial, now a bit dated in terms of styles, clothing etc. still delivers the message of how important it is to read a book that will intelligently arm the male reader for what to expect the first 13 months of pregnancy. It was titled. “Just Read It” ENJOY!
